Who is the Messiah?
In Abrahamic religions, the messiah or messias is a saviour or liberator of a group of people.

Who is Joseph Atwill?
Caesar's Messiah is a 2005 book written by Joseph Atwill. In which he argues the New Testament Gospels were written as wartime propaganda by scholars connected to the Roman imperial court of the Flavian emperors: Vespasian, Titus and Domitian. According to Atwill, their primary purpose in creating
the religion was to control the spread of Judaism and moderate its political virulence. The Jewish nationalist Zealots had been defeated in the First Jewish-Roman War of 70 AD, but Judaism remained an influential movement throughout the Mediterranean region. Atwill argues that the biblical character Jesus Christ is a typological representation of the Roman Emperor Titus. Atwill's theory contradicts the mainstream historical view, which is that while the Gospels include many mythical or legendary elements, these are religious elaborations added to the biography of a historical Jesus who did live in 1st-century Roman Palestine (Judea), was baptized by John the Baptist and was crucified by the order of the Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate. |

What was Flavian?
The Flavian dynasty was a Roman imperial dynasty, which ruled the Roman Empire between 69-96 AD. This encompass the reigns of Vespasian (69-79 AD), and his two sons Titus (79-81 AD) and Domitian (81-96 AD). The Flavians rose to power during the civil war of 69, known as the Year of the Four
Emperors. The Flavian dynasty was unique among the four dynasties of the Principate Era, in that it was only one man and his two sons, without any extended or adopted family. |
Where is Rome?
Rome is the capital city of Italy and a special comune (named Comune di Roma Capitale). Rome also serves as the capital of the Lazio region. With 2,872,800 residents in 1,285 km2 (496.1 sq mi), it is also the country's most populated comune. It is the fourth-most populous city in the European Union
by population within city limits. It is the centre of the Metropolitan City of Rome, which has a population of 4.3 million residents. Rome is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, within Lazio (Latium), along the shores of the Tiber. The Vatican City is an independent country inside the city boundaries of Rome, the only existing example of a country within a city: for this reason Rome has been often defined as capital of two states. Rome's history spans 28 centuries. While Roman mythology dates the founding of Rome at around 753 BC, the site has been inhabited for much longer, making it one of the oldest continuously occupied sites in Europe. |
What is Caesar?
Gaius Julius Caesar, 100-44 BC, known by his cognomen Julius Caesar, was a Roman politician and military general. Caesar played a critical role in the events that led to the demise of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire.
