Professor Bart D. Ehrman joined The Drew Marshall Show as a call in guest on March 31st, 2018. The broadcast was recorded from the studio of CJYE based in Oakville, Ontario Canada. The interview immediately begins with highlights from Bart's book "The Triumph of Christianity: How A Forbidden Religion Swept the World." They first discuss how atheist [and mythicist] are not pleased with Bart's position on Jesus. Drew continues in disbelief about how the book suggests that Christianity took over the Roman Empire, which Bart explains touching on the separation of church and state. Drew further asked how Christianity could consume the masses when there were so many inconsistencies negating its legitimacy? Then he questioned, should we stop and give credence to Christianity because it was a galvanizing force that changed the world? Drew closes asking what benefits did the world gain from Christianity?

Bart D. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He came to UNC in 1988, after four years of teaching at Rutgers University. At UNC he has served as both the Director of Graduate Studies and the Chair of the Department of Religious Studies. A graduate of Wheaton College (Illinois), Professor Ehrman received both his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary, where his 1985 doctoral dissertation was awarded magna cum laude.

Drew Marshall was adopted, grew up in a funeral home, survived a teenage suicide attempt, dropped out of school in Grade 9, ran away to California to be a wrangler, played semi-pro football with NFL/CFL tryouts, drove around North America volunteering for charities, tried to be a firefighter & a rodeo cowboy, became a Pastor in Australia and studied stand-up comedy & improv at Second City Toronto. Currently he hosts Canada’s most listened to spiritual talk show.
