Elohim in the Hebrew Bible refers to deities, and is one of the many names or titles for God in the Hebrew Bible. The word is identical to the plural
of el, meaning gods or magistrates, and is used for the pantheon of Canaanite gods, the children of El, and conventionally vocalized as "Elohim". The notion of divinity underwent radical changes in the early period of Israelite identity and development of Ancient Hebrew religion. The ambiguity of the term elohim is the result of such changes, cast in terms of "vertical translatability", i.e. the re-interpretation of the gods from 7th century BC, Judah to the emergence of monotheist Rabbinical Judaism in the 2 AD.
Allah is the Arabic word for God in Abrahamic religions. In the English language, the word generally refers to God in Islam. The word is thought to be
derived by contraction from al-ilah, which means 'the god', and is related to El and Elah, the Hebrew and Aramaic words for God. The word Allah has been used by Arabic people of different religions since pre-Islamic times. More specifically, it has been used as a term for God by Muslims (both Arab and non-Arab) and Arab Christians.
In monotheism and henotheism, God is conceived as the Supreme Being and principal object of faith. The concept of God as described by theologians
commonly includes the attributes of omniscience (infinite knowledge), omnipotence (unlimited power), omnipresence (present everywhere), omnibenevolence (perfect goodness), divine simplicity, and eternal and necessary existence.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.Who is Allah?
Allah is the Arabic word for God.
The name Allah is unique. It has no feminine or masculine form (unlike god or goddess). It also has no plural form (unlike gods and goddesses). Allah simply means "The One and Only True God."
The name Allah was not a name invented by the Arabs. In the Torah, we find God gave Himself the name "Elah", or in some cases, "Eloh". It was also used in the Aramaic language spoken by Jesus.
Editor Note: For the sake of simplicity, we have used the word God on this website, in place of Allah.
2.Is Allah the Moon-God?
Robert Morey, a Christian pastor first claimed Allah was a pagan Moon God. This is a false claim
3.Where did the name Allah come from?
The word Allah is used in all Arabic translations of the Bible. It was used in some English translations of the Bible like the original "Scofield Reference Bible"
In the New Testament, Jesus is believed to cry before his death "ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” Eloi is the exact Arabic word "Elahi" which comes from the same root as Allah.
