London | Go-it-alone Sweden has again styled itself as a global outlier in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, with the country's chief epidemiologist Anders Tegnell saying face masks are pointless, even on public transport.
Dr Tegnell, the author of Sweden's controversial lockdown-lite strategy
this week welcomed a decline in new cases and deaths as he continued to champion the country's largely voluntary approach to social distancing.
