Video Description (from Youtube)
Sitting on a hospital bed in Gaza, 11-year-old Sham Rumman can’t hold back her tears as she recounts how she lost her leg after getting severely injured in an Israeli strike near her home in Gaza.
“I want a leg. I want them to give me a new leg. I want them to give me new toes, and to remove what’s on my arm so I can go back to how I used to be,” she says.
Sham is one of thousands of Palestinian children who have lost a limb due to relentless Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip since October 2023.
Rights groups and NGOs say the war on Gaza has had a devastating effect on the children of the enclave, with an average of 15 children per day acquiring potentially life-altering disabilities.
