Born in Nova Scotia, Graeme MacQueen received his Ph.D. in comparative religion from Harvard University and taught in the Religious Studies department of McMaster University for 30 years. In 1989 he became founding Director of the Centre for Peace Studies at McMaster, after which he helped develop the B.A. programme in Peace Studies and co-directed (with $2 million in government, UN and NGO funding) peace-building projects in Sri Lanka, Gaza, Croatia and Afghanistan. He has also contributed to the development of the Women's Peace Brigade in north India (active now in several states) and was involved for some years in the Third Option, a peace initiative for Afghanistan. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as four books. He took early retirement from McMaster University to devote his energy to peace and justice work.
For the past five years most of Graeme's research has focused on the events and anomalies of 9/11. He has written four research articles on the subject:

Who is Graeme MacQueen?Graeme MacQueen is a retired professor of religious studies at McMaster University, Ontario. Here he taught from 1974 to 2003. He was also the founder and former Director of the Centre for Peace Studies at McMaster. MacQureen is a co-editor of the Journal of 9/11 Studies.
What is Terror?Terrorism is the use of intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror among masses of people. With aim to create fear to achieve a financial, political, religious or ideological aim. It is used in this regard primarily to refer to violence against peacetime targets or in war against non-combatants. The terms "terrorist" and "terrorism" originated during the French Revolution of the late 18th century but gained mainstream popularity during the U.S. presidency of Ronald Reagan (1981-89) after the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings and again after the 2001 September 11 attacks. There is no commonly accepted definition of "terrorism". Being a charged term, with the connotation of something "morally wrong", it is often used, both by governments and non-state groups, to abuse or denounce opposing groups.
What is 9/11?The September 11 attacks (also referred to as 9/11) were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks. Reportedly carried out by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda against the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The attacks killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others, and caused at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage.
