Who is Edward Bernays?

Edward Louis Bernays (1891-1995) was an Austrian-American pioneer in the field of public relations and propaganda, referred to in his obituary as "the

father of public relations". Bernays was named one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century by Life. Bernays described the masses of people as irrational and subject to herd instinct - and outlined how skilled practitioners could use crowd psychology and psycho-analysis to control them in desirable ways. Bernays worked for dozens of major American corporations including Procter & Gamble and General Electric, and for government agencies, politicians, and non-profit organizations.

What is Mind Control?

Mind Control (or brainwashing, menticide, coercive persuasion, thought control, thought reform, and re-education) is the idea that the human mind can

be altered or controlled by certain psychological techniques. Brainwashing is said to reduce the subject's ability to think critically or independently, to allow the introduction of new, unwanted thoughts and ideas into the subject's mind, as well as to change his or her attitudes, values, and beliefs.

What is Propaganda?

Propaganda is information that is not objective and is used primarily to influence an audience and further an agenda. This is often by presenting

facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis or perception, or using loaded language to produce an emotional rather than a rational response to the information that is presented. Propaganda is often associated with material prepared by governments, but activist groups, companies, religious organizations and the media can also produce propaganda.

What is Sin?

In Abrahamic contexts, sin is the act of violating God's will. Sin can also be viewed as anything that violates the ideal relationship between an

individual and God; or as any diversion from the ideal order for human living. To sin has been defined as "to miss the mark".

Conversely, sins of great evil are mortal sins which bring the consequence of hell if they are not addressed either through an act of perfect contrition or going to confession about them.
