Employees working at cafes and restaurants in Ras Al Khaimah must take a mandatory Covid-19 every fortnight, municipality officials said on Thursday.
Food establishments should also keep a record of the screening results of the employees and report any positive cases, they said.
Workers at
veterinary centres will also have to take the coronavirus test every two weeks.
“Employees will have to visit the nearest health centre if they show any symptoms,†said a municipality officer.
The Public Health Department at the municipality has organised an awareness campaign in different languages to encourage workers to wear face masks and gloves, and follow physical-distancing rules.
The department also urged food outlets to follow all safety measures.
Authorities across the country have stepped up efforts in recent weeks in an effort to drive down infections.
