Video Description (from Youtube)
Christians claim that Jesus is the passover lamb, referring to the lamb slaughtered in the land of Egypt. Is this true?

Rabbi Tovia Singer is the Director of Outreach Judaism, who has been helping Jews return to the Jewish faith. He starts his explanation by pointing out why the Jews brought the Passover Lamb while still in the land of Egypt.

The Egyptian thought of the lamb as a deity. It was forbidden to slaughter lambs throughout the land of Egypt. This was mentioned by Moses when Pharaoh told him to bring his sacrifice within the land. He told the Pharaoh that if they did that, the Egyptians will stone the Israelites for sacrificing their god.

The command to bring the passover lamb while they were still in Egypt is a test by God to see if the Israelites were worthy to be redeemed out of slavery in Egypt. Not only were they told to slaughter the god of Egypt, they are to smear its blood on the outside of their door as well. It was a test. If they complied, they will live. If not, they will die, when the angel of death and darkness walk the land of Egypt to kill every firstborn.

Understanding this important message is very important to answer the question, whether Jesus could have been the "passover lamb". Rabbi Tovia Singer connects the dots in this video.

Once the biblical context behind of the story is understood, it becomes apparent how absurd it is to suggest that the story has anything to do with Jesus. Even within christianity, it is a matter of wide dispute whether or not Jesus is considered the sacrificial lamb by the new testament. Either the last supper was a passover seder, or Jesus was the sacrificial lamb - according to the new testament, only one can be true.
