As a former Methodist minister and social psychologist trained in the study of mass-mediated phenomena, Luther G. Williams, PhD. is a classic cross-disciplinarian. James Valliant and Warren Fahy, authors of “Creating Christ: How Roman Emperors Invented Christianity” are a good example. Although neither of them is credentialed in history or theology, their work has been praised as representative of the highest “scholarship” by no less an eminent academician as Dr. Robert Eisenman.
