Saint Victorinus of Pettau was an Early Christian ecclesiastical writer who flourished and was martyred during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian.
A Bishop of Poetovio (Slovenia) he was born probably in Greece and spoke Greek better than Latin. He was the first theologian to use Latin for his exegesis. He is one of the earliest church fathers to give any indication against Chiliasm, though he still respects the gathering of the church to Judea.
