Who are Library of Alexandria?

The Library of Alexandria was a renowned institution of learning in ancient Alexandria, Egypt, established in the 3rd century BCE. It was a part of

the larger Mouseion, a research institute dedicated to the Muses. The library is famous for its vast collection of scrolls and its role as a center for scholarship, but it is also shrouded in mystery, particularly regarding its destruction.

King Ptolemy, with the Greek historian Plutarch, ordered all books to be collected. Around 288 BC, the LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA was born. It would serve as testament to the supremacy of Greek culture, the acquisition of knowledge and learning.

Papyrus scrolls from every corner of the world stacked on shelves. When finished, the library contained works by every conceivable author, poet and writer, rhetoricians, doctor, historian and everyone else.
