Prophet Lot - Sodom was destroyed by a violent earthquake. Today, their are obvious signs of such a disaster.
The image shows the distinct salt-and-limestone rock pillar known as Lot's Wife, standing prominently along the ridge of Mount Sodom at the southwestern edge of the Dead Sea, Israel. This dramatic, weathered geological formation is famously linked to the biblical and Islamic account of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, where Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt for looking back at the burning cities. The column rises directly above Route 90, overlooking the vast salt flats of the southern Dead Sea basin.
