The image shows Noah's Mausoleum (Nuh Peyqembar Turbesi), located within the old fortress complex (Kohna Qala) in the southern district of Nakhchivan City, the capital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (an exclave of Azerbaijan).The current octagonal, brick-and-mosaic building with a distinctive conical roof was rebuilt in 2006. It stands directly over the excavated 8th-century lower foundations of a historic burial vault, where local tradition holds that the biblical and Quranic patriarch Noah was laid to rest after his Ark came to rest in the nearby southern Caucasus mountains.
