According to the Bible, the exact location of Moses' grave is unknown, in order to impede idolatry.The image captures the panoramic view looking west from the summit ridge of Mount Nebo (Jabal Nibu) in western Jordan. According to biblical tradition, this is the mountain peak where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land before his death. On a clear day, this high-altitude mountain ledge offers an expansive, sweeping view across the deep Jordan River Valley, the northern basin of the Dead Sea, and the distant hills of the West Bank. The stone walls visible in the lower left corner belong to the archaeological remnants surrounding the Memorial Church of Moses.

What is Jordan?
Jordan, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an Arab country in Western Asia, on the East Bank of the Jordan River. Jordan is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south and the east, Iraq to the north-east, Syria to the north and Israel and Palestine (West Bank) to the west. The Dead Sea is located along its western borders and the country has a small coastline to the Red Sea in its extreme south-west, but is otherwise landlocked. Jordan is strategically located at the crossroads of Asia, Africa and Europe. The capital, Amman, is Jordan's most populous city as well as the country's economic, political and cultural centre.
