Prophet Abel - Buried at the Nabi Habeel Mosque, Zabadani Valley, Syria.
The image features the interior shrine of the Tomb of Abel located inside the Nabi Habeel Mosque on the scenic mountain sides of the Barada Valley north-west of Damascus. Safely protected inside a long silver railing, this extraordinarily prolonged sarcophagus is draped in a green ceremonial velvet cloth decorated with gold Arabic calligraphy. Following local religious tradition, this site honors Abel, the son of Adam and Eve who was killed by his brother Cain, making it a significant place of respect and pilgrimage.
