1. Jesus is God |
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
This is a highly disputed Biblical verse. Was the word God or was the word with God? John 1:1 was copied from Genesis 1:1, which further adds to the confusion.

2. We Are One |
I and the Father are one
I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall be one flesh
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one'
Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we are
Jesus and God are One. Jesus and his disciples are One. A husband and wife are One. One in purpose and objective?

3. I am 'in' God |
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you
Jesus also claims his Disciples are 'in' him and he is 'inside' them. Being 'inside' someone appears to mean being together in purpose and mission, and not a physical sense.

4. Before Abraham |
Very truly I tell you, Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
And now, Father, glorify me (Jesus) in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began
The Lord brought me (Solomon) forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old
Before I formed you (Jeremiah) in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
In the Bible, Solomon and Jeremiah were also born before their time. God confirms that he knew of Solomon and Jeremiah's existence before their birth. God is All-Knowing. His knowledge is beyond limits, and so God knew of Jesus before his birth too?

5. Claim to be God |
For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God
Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me The Jews said Jesus claimed to be equal to God.
Later, Jesus corrected them and said he could do nothing by himself (i.e. he was not God). In fact, Jesus confirms he was sub-ordinate and reliant on God (the 'Father').

6. You are Gods |
We are not stoning you for any good work," they replied, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God
Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are "gods"
The Jews accused Jesus of claiming divinity and proceeded to stone him on the charge of blasphemy.
Jesus replied, it was not blasphemy to describe himself as God's Son (in a metaphorical sense), as the Jewish scripture often addressed blessed people as "gods". |
7. Worship as God |
When they saw him, they worshipped (proskyneō) him; but some doubted."
But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves', God said, 'and afterward they will come out of that country and worship [latreuó] me in this place'
The Greek word 'proskyneō' is inaccurately translated to 'worship' in English. It shoud be translated to 'respect, revere, bow down to,
hold in high regard' and is directed to another person of status (i.e. you bow to a king, master, superior etc.)
The exact Greek word for worship is 'latreuó'. This is used exclusively in the worship of God. Therefore, this verse shows that Jesus was respected like a king, and not worshipped as God. |
8. A Prophet |
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
The Disciples believed Jesus was a prophet, not God.

9. Forgive Sin |
Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?
If you (Disciples) forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven
Only God can forgive sin? Jesus tells the disiples, they can also forgive sin.

10. Perform Miracles |
And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived (from death)
And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I (Elisha) pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.
Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God (Elisha): and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.
And his servitor said, What, should I (Elisha) set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the Lord, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof. Christians claim Jesus was God, as he performed miracles (raised dead, fed 5000 people, heal blind, leper etc.) Other Biblical prophets performed similar miracles:

11. Wrestled with God |
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man (God) with him until the breaking of the day.
Jacob wrestled with God who appeared as a man. Was Jacob actually wrestling with Jesus? |
12. Thomas called Jesus a God |
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
In the Greek language, God ("Theos") was a descriptive title applied to a range of authorities, and not just God.

13. Omnipresent |
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father
Jesus tells his Disciples that he has received authority from a higher power (i.e. God). Jesus states he does not have knowledge of the last hour. If Jesus lacks the attributes of God, he must be inferior to God and not his equal.

14. First and Last |
I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and Last, the Beginning and the End.
This verse relates to a three-way conversation which when studied suggests that God makes this statement through an Angel (i.e. God is the first and last). |
15. Image of God |
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
The image and the original cannot be the same. Jesus cannot be God. |
A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image [eikon] and glory of God
All men are in the image of God. Are we all Gods?

16. Baptism |
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit'
because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus
So he ordered that they be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days
On hearing this, they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus
Matthew 28:19 is the only verse to mention the 'Trinitarian formula', a baptism in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Similar verses, refer to a baptism in Jesus name only.
It is highly likely, Matthew 28:19 was a later textual edit to justify the introduction of the 4th century doctrine of the Trinity. |
17. Fullness of God |
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form
God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him (Jesus)
For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the spirit without limit
And to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit
The fullness of God is the Holy Spirit. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit (revelatory guidance), a gift from God according to the Bible. Similar verses show others were filled with the Holy Spirit.

18. Jesus is Kurios |
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord ('kurios')", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Property owners are called "Lord" (kurios)
Heads of households are called "Lord" (kurios)
Slave owners are called "Lord" (kurios)
Husbands are called "Lord" (kurios)
A son calls his father "Lord" (kurios)
The Roman Emperor is called "Lord" (kurios)
Roman authorities are called "Lord" (kurios)
Jesus may be Lord (kurios) according to the Bible, but "Lord" is not "God".
"Lord" (Greek: 'kurios') is a masculine title of respect and nobility and was used to describe many others.

19. King Herod is God |
On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.

20. Paul is God |
The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
Every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
Paul distinguishes between Jesus and God
But I want you to realise that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God
Paul states God is higher than Jesus

21. Satan is God |
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel

22. God sent Jesus |
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God |
23. A Prophet |
And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets. But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead
King Herod and his soldiers identified Jesus a prophet sent God, and not God Himself. A prophet like John.

24. Three Wise Men |
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him ("proskeneyo")
Three wise men followed the star to baby Jesus who they believed was the king of the Jews, and much awaited Messiah. They came to 'worship' baby Jesus. In Greek, "worship" is 'proskeneyo' which has various meanings including worship, respect and pay homage to a prophet, or a man of high rank and authority.

25. Feeding of 5000 |
And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
Jesus performs a miracle where he feeds 5000 people with little bread and fish. He is acknowledged as a prophet sent by God.

26. Thou art a Prophet |
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
A woman proclaimed Jesus was a prophet of God.

27. Expected One |
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
People disagree if Jesus was a prophet or Christ, but never held to be a God |
28. Blessed King |
And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest
Jesus is praised as the King (the Messiah) who came in the name of the Lord. |
29. Jesus Cries |
Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Jesus prays to Him (God) to save him from death. A clear distinction between Jesus and God is obvious. |
30. I am a Man |
But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
Jesus refers to himself as a Man who speaks the truth. |
